Dr. Manuel Vermeer Dr. Manuel Vermeer, studied sinology at the universities of Heidelberg (Germany) and Shanghai, PR China (1982/83, 上海外语学院) and spent a number of years working as translator and interpreter for the German Federal Government (Chancellor, Federal President). He currently works as an assistant professor at the East Asia Institute of Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences东亚学院. His doctoral dissertation concerned the Chinese economy. Dr. Vermeer has published numerous articles on Chinese and Indian economic, cultural and language issues and has written two books on China as well as one Chinese language guide. His latest book is a “Business Guide to India”. Dr. Vermeer conducts specialised training for CEOs, managers and employees either relocating to China/India or dealing with Chinese/Indian business partners. He offers a full spectrum of business consultancy services and support in all phases of corporate activity in China and India as well as supporting Chinese/Indian companies starting operations in Europe/US/Africa. More than 3,000 managers from leading German, European, US-American and Asian companies and universities have attended his training courses given in German, English, Spanish and Chinese. A German TV-team accompanied him for a day and broadcast a special feature of his work on German TV and on “Deutsche Welle” (“German Broadcast TV”) worldwide in 2007.
