Kundalini Yoga technology:
All yoga is a relationship- it is the union of the finite self with the Infinite Self. It is also a technology of awareness, that expands the caliber and capacity of mental faculties to bring about equilibrium. Yoga is greatly needed in the world as it gives the mental equilibrium of neutrality with which to ride the wave of life and its ups and downs.
Kundalini Yoga is an ancient science that works on the 8 chakras (the 8th is the Aura) by uncoiling the dormant creative energy at the base of our spine. It then guides this energy through a series of physical postures and body locks in order to achieve specific physical/mental/energetic effects. Apart from its legacy and lineage, it also has a leverage that is even mentioned in the yogic scriptures as the fastest way to create transformation. It is often referred to as the diamond of yoga as it contains all facets, sound and mantra, physical postures (asanas) and meditation.
It is a Raj (royal) yoga that has a lineage and a legacy in that it used to be passed in secrecy from teacher to select student, often given through the line of kings (for example, King Janaka). Later on, it was transmitted through the Sikh lineage of Guru Ram Das (one of the Sikh Gurus).
Yogi Bhajan, Master of Hatha and Kundalini Yoga, acknowledged Guru Ram Das as his teacher and he came to the West in 1969 to create teachers that would spread the technology to the whole world, forming a Golden Chain to the whole lineage. It is called ‘the mother of all yogas’, as it is the origin of all other yogas. It is the yoga of Awareness and as such suitable for everyone, as everybody has the capacity for awareness. It’s just that some have higher and some have lower blocks to it. Everyone can arrive, but with Kundalini Yoga we can arrive fast.
Twelve years of Hatha Yoga, plus six years of Raja Yoga, plus three years of Mantra Yoga, plus one year of Laya Yoga is equal to the effect of just one complete year of Kundalini Yoga. As it is so powerful and awareness can be dangerous, in the past Kundalini Yoga was a secret. Yogi Bhajan changed all that, when he came to the West to freely pass the technology around.
It is a spiritual, but not religious discipline and all are welcome, regardless of experience, religion and belief.
