Occupy Berlin News will einen Überblick über die Aktivitäten der weltweiten Demokratiebewegungen vermitteln - 2011 erleben wir Demonstrationen, Versammlungen und Camps auf zentralen Plätze in Kairo, Athen, Madrid, Barcelona, Berlin, Stuttgart, New York und vielen anderen Städten. Im Nahen Osten gehen Millionen Menschen für Veränderung auf die Straße - Hunderttausende auch in Israel - Millionen protestierten weltweit nach Fukushima gegen die Atomindustrie.
Über Wochen war das Parlamentsgebäude im US-Bundesstaat Wisconsin von Gewerkschaften und Sympathisanten friedlich besetzt.
Danach Großdemonstrationen in London, New York und Los Angeles gegen Kriege und Sozialkürzungen. Unter dem Motto "Occupy Wall Street" und ausgehend von New York gibt es jetzt in den USA und international Proteste. Gegen eine Politik im Interesse der Banken, einer kleinen Gruppe multinationaler Konzerne und Milliardäre und eines militärisch industriellen Komplexes, der die Interessen dieser Minderheit weltweit schützt oder mit Gewalt durchsetzt.
Während ein Bruchteil der Menschheit immer reicher wird ist die Mehrheit der Bevölkerung zunehmend mit den Konsequenzen
dieser menschenfeindlichen Politik konfrontiert:
Sozialer Abstieg und zunehmende Verarmung auch in westlichen Industriestaaten.
Verschuldung der Kommunen und öffentlicher Haushalte sowie zunehmende Privatisierung.
Weltweit immer mehr Hunger und Elend.
Eskalierende militärische Konflikte und die rücksichtslose, existenzbedrohende Zerstörung der Umwelt.
Schluss mit der Diktatur der Banken und multinationaler Konzerne.
Gegen Kriege, Rassismus und Umweltzerstörung.
Für Frieden, soziale Gerechtigkeit und Bürgerrechte.
Gewerkschaften, Organisationen und zahlreiche internationale Persönlichkeiten aus Politik, Kultur und Wissenschaft, unterstützen
diese gewaltlosen und basisdemokratischen Proteste.
